2 years since TechCrunch50

“Look Up! Not Down!” has been Tonchidot’s motto ever since our CEO Takahito Iguchi shouted out those words at TechCrunch50, September 9th 2008.
Indeed,2 years have passed since “the” presentation, when many believed our AR application to be a fantasy….

Tonchidot Madness: The Video

We released the “Sekai Camera” app for iPhone a year later on September 2009 in Japan, causing a social phenomenon.
And today, another year later, it is enjoyed in all corners of the globe, having created millions of “AirTags” in the busiest of cities and remotest of places in the process.

Our thanks go out to all Sekai Camera users – you have made Tonchidot what we are today! We must also thank all who have supported us and given us precious advice at and ever since the TechCrunch50 event.

Born in a tiny apartment in a corner of Tokyo, Tonchidot now has almost fifty passionate crew members working hard to achieve the vision we presented 2 years ago.
We promise you that much more exciting stuff is still to come!
